Anyone ever use E-85 fuel in their mowers yet? I have, started in 2006 and since modified its usage, I used it in Drag Racing, Enduro and testing on the track in my backyard. A few things: the engine runs quieter. - Didn't notice a power drop -, Inside the engine, its cleaner, Minor carb mods,. easy. The exaust smells like sweet corn...burned sweet corn, the head would need to be modified for cooling. The exhaust would need to be shielded - I solved some of the exhaust smell by fabricating a home-made catalytic converter - I used 3.50 X 156 wall tubing and catalytic material. I have a picture of the mower somewhere, ha ha In the Past awards/evens page, in a parade and drag racing in Fremont.

WHAT ABOUT RUNNING PROPANE? I'm about to start on a project with a friend, and we're thinking of injecting Propane from the small torch type cylinders. We are going this way to make refueling easier, the machine is going to be a 1/4 to 1/5 scale F-100 fighter jet for parades and stuff. | |

One thing to remember about using E-85 fuel...clean that engine before storage, it eats the block to put it very broad.
