ive had problems in the past with wheel spacers snapin off and after seein ricks axle snap(see photgallery) i decided i didnt wan nutin to do with hubs, keyways, and spacers.

 

i had a set old ford halfton truck axles turned down to fit an 820

pulled the top off and removed stock axles and installed the ford axles

here the trans back together with the new shafts and extra support bearings

back in the ford. just have to biuld some support mounts for the bearings. ill bet these wont break!

That is pretty close to what I did on the swamp buggy.  I welded 3/16 wall tubing to the old axles and moved the hubs out about 12". the "outboard" bearings are mounted just below the coil over shocks. It is part of the rear bumper, swing arm, motor mount.

How about  a few more pic`s  of your swamp buggy . I`m  looking for more idea`s . What did you do for your front end ?  How about posting a tread on your build with pic`s ,  I think that would be help alot of us new builders out with idea`s.

got everything done and took out for a test run, everything works great. now i gota get the front tires balenced and mabe some kinda steering stabalizer. she gets a lil squirly at hi speeds

The shop is kinda full right now. I got 5 I need to finish this week. I will bring the buggy in and take it apart to get some good pics
