Wamdering if anyone has had any luck welding the cams on a single cylinder motor for more lift and duration? If so how did it work out! Got a spare motor that's I'd like to try it on, but dont wanna totally kill the engine if it doesnt work out! | |

cams are ground to very tight tolerences,rite down to .000 of and inch. when cams are reground for more lift they acualy grind some off the heal or bottom of the cam lobe. i wouldnt weld on one either just for the simple fact that the heat will distort the camshaft. it might look strait when done but id bet it wont be | |

Hmm, could be right, Ive seen it done before on an opposed twin, I have a spare cam from an engine now, so I might try it out | |

*gasp---- we wouldn't do that, OR extend the push rod or the valve stem or swap springs....la la la la

Itd be easier to buy a new pre modifed cam from a racing lawntractor shop actually- but if its a spare- go for it. | |
