i just got a oppesed twin motor 20 hp it worked for a day then i went to start it again but it wouldnt turn over with the starter but it will with my hand and when i take the plugs out . and i put a new starter in

Sounds like a bad battery connection to me.    Have you tried jumping 12v straight to the starter?


Could be a bad ignition switch or solenoid

Try taking it off and putting jump leads straight to the +ve post on the side, and the ground somewhere an bare metal on the starter.  IF it doesnt turn over still, sounds like its bad?  Which is odd.

Check the flywheel key, just in case- i bot a 'reconditioned' motor a while back - would crank with no plug in, but would snap the flywheel key when i tryed firing it up with the plug in-  mine turned out to be a timing issue.

i worked on it today i put a new solenoid . but i was checking it with the meter but it had 12v going to the starter then as soon u turn the key it would kill the volts

amps? try hooking a car charger to battery.get alot of amps in thier, it will read 12v but not enough amps going to starter
